Green Apples Lunch Bag
Back to school time requires new lunch bags to house the girls' Lap Top Lunch Boxes. So yesterday, I made a patchwork lunch box cover from some lovely corduroy scraps. The oversized wooden button was just the perfect finishing touch. Now for lunch bag number 2....

DIY Ribbon = Eco Ribbon
I've tried to combine the art of gift wrapping and being an eco responsible crafter by using all my wonderfully colorful but odd shaped scrap fabric pieces to create ribbon to wrap all those fantastic packages for friends and Etsy customers. Having 3 Etsy shops, I always strive to set my shop apart from all the amazing talent out there and this is one way I do it. Each package comes beautifully wrapped in recycled paper and eco ribbon. And the best part is that it is really fun to combine odds and ends of fabric to create a new little piece of art. You can make your own or I've made them available here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/34916378/eco-ribbon .

Maker Faire Detroit
I had a fantastic time this past weekend at Maker Faire Detroit at The Henry Ford. It was amazing to see all the talent around our area, as well as from around the country. The Etsy booth was busy for the 3 hours I was there answering questions and chatting it up with other Etsy sellers, current and future buyers and the Etsy Brooklyners. There were lots of student activities and the girls had fun making lots of projects like tissue paper flowers or making their own LED nightlight from http://www.flyartcenter.org/. And I have to mention that The Henry Ford was the best venue to host this event! You can find out more about the Maker Faire here: http://makerfaire.com/. Can't wait till next year!

Mini Bunting...fun for parties and so much more
C's birthday party was a few weeks ago and now I am stuck with yards and yards of miniature bunting. The party was at our little lake and the bunting was so beautiful blowing in the wind...but it's time to repurpose. L's friend has a birthday party today so I decided to dress up the wrapping a bit with the mini bunting flags and the girls did the rest with their beautiful handmade cards and C added a bit of western whimsy onto the back with a southwestern scene from a wall paper sample book from the neighbor. Their details add just the right touch for a kids birthday party.
